Our Colt Python grips fit the 2020 and newer Colt Python and the 2021 and newer Anaconda. Choose pearl, rosewood, black rosewood or walnut, with or without a gold, silver or enamel medallion.
All our Python grips are made in the USA. Every set ships in a gift box, and most include the grip screw. These grips don’t fit original Pythons made from 1955 to 2005.
Colt Python Pearl, Rosewood and Walnut Grips
Colt brought the Python back in 2020 on a new frame. The 2021 Anaconda, the Kodiak and the Grizzly share the same grip frame, so every grip on this page fits all four.
Our Anaconda grips and Python grips are the same panels. Original Pythons made from 1955 to 2005 use a different grip frame, so check the year on your revolver before you order.
Pearl: our Colt Python pearl grips pair rosewood with polished pearl acrylic accents. Rosewood with pearl suits the stainless finish of the 2020 Python.
Rosewood: checkered rosewood has a warm grain and a secure feel. Black rosewood gives a darker, high-contrast look against a stainless frame.
Walnut: walnut gives the Python a traditional wood tone that suits a classic revolver.
We make our wood grips from solid rosewood, walnut, or Dymondwood, a stabilized rosewood laminate that holds fine carved detail. Each product listing states its material.

Custom Colt Python Grips with Medallions
Our custom Colt Python grips add carving and medallions to the wood:
- Carved scrollwork: hand-detailed borders and a snake-scale texture, a nod to the Python name. See the Texas Star and gold U.S. medallion versions.
- Dragon scale rosewood: rosewood carved with an overlapping scale pattern, like the dragon scale with blue medallion.
- Medallion options: gold, silver, blue enamel, U.S., Texas Star and American flag.
How to choose the best grips for your Colt Python: start with the frame finish. The 2020 Python comes in stainless steel, so silver medallions and pearl accents match its tone. Gold medallions add warm contrast against black rosewood. For everyday shooting, choose checkered rosewood or walnut. For a display or collector piece, choose carved scrollwork or pearl.
To keep your grips looking new, wipe wood with a soft, dry cloth and keep gun solvents off it. Check the grip screw now and then, and don’t overtighten it.
