Do Colt 1911 grips fit a Springfield 1911?
Yes. Springfield builds its standard single-stack 1911s to the same Government/Commander screw spacing and panel shape as Colt, so Full Size grips fit both interchangeably.
What screw spacing does a Springfield 1911 use?
Full size and Commander-frame Springfield 1911s use 3-1/16″ screw spacing, matching the standard Government-model dimension.
Do these grips fit a Springfield EMP?
No. The EMP uses different width, screw spacing, and bushings, it needs EMP-specific grips, which we don’t currently carry.
Do these grips fit a Springfield Prodigy?
No. The Prodigy is a double-stack 2011 platform with a one-piece polymer grip module, traditional panel grips don’t attach to it.
Do I need a gunsmith to install these?
No. Every set ships with hardware and installs with a basic screwdriver, no filing or fitting required.
