The J frame is Smith & Wesson’s small revolver frame and one of the most popular concealed carry platforms in America. Our J frame revolver grips fit round-butt models including the 642, 442, 637, 638, 640, 60, 36, 38, 340 PD, 360 and 649. Each product listing shows its full list of compatible models.

Round butt only. J frames were made in both round-butt and square-butt versions, and they take different grips. Our grips fit round-butt J frames. To check yours, remove one factory panel and look at the bottom of the grip frame: a round butt curves at the rear corner, while a square butt has a sharp, flat corner.
Not for the Bodyguard 38. The polymer-frame Bodyguard 38 does not take standard J frame grips.

J frame ivory and pearl grips: our faux ivory J frame grips give an old-school look without the cost or fragility of real ivory. Faux pearl comes in red and black mother of pearl, made from solid polished acrylic.

Do J frame grips fit square-butt J frames?
No. Our J frame grips are made for round-butt frames only. Square-butt J frames take a different grip shape.
Do J frame grips fit the Bodyguard 38?
No. The Bodyguard 38 has a polymer frame and does not accept standard J frame grips.

How do I change my J frame grips?
Unload the revolver and confirm it is empty. Remove the grip screw, lift off the factory panels, fit the new panels and tighten the screw snugly without overtightening. The installation screw is included with every set.
