Birdshead Grips

Heritage Birdshead Grips in Walnut, Ivory and Pearl

Our Heritage Rough Rider birdshead grips fit the Birdshead model of the Heritage Rough Rider in .22 LR and .22 Magnum. Choose walnut, faux ivory, black pearl or rosewood with a pearl accent.

The birdshead frame takes different grips from the standard Rough Rider, so every grip on this page fits the birdshead shape only. Every set ships in a gift box, and most include the grip screw.

Rough Rider Birdshead Grips vs Standard Grips

A birdshead grip curves down and back at the bottom, so its side profile looks like a bird’s head. A standard Rough Rider grip flares out at the bottom, like a classic single-action revolver. Heritage builds the two on different frames, so rough rider birdshead grips won’t fit a standard frame, and standard grips won’t fit a birdshead.

To check your model, look at the bottom of the grip frame. A rounded hook that curves under means you have a birdshead. A flared bottom that ends flat means you have a standard Rough Rider, which takes our Heritage Rough Rider grips.

When you shop for bird head grips for a Heritage Rough Rider, check that the listing says “Birdshead”. Every grip on this page does.

Walnut, Faux Ivory and Pearl Birdshead Grips

For a classic wood look, our Heritage birdshead walnut grips suit the western style of the Rough Rider. Our birdshead faux ivory grips give the old-west look of ivory in durable acrylic. If you want more shine, our black pearl birdshead grips stand out against a blued frame, while our rosewood and pearl birdshead grips pair warm wood with a polished inlay.

Heritage uses the same birdshead grip frame for its .22 LR and .22 Magnum models, and for the 6-shot and 9-shot versions. That makes every grip here a Heritage 22 Mag birdshead revolver grip as well as a .22 LR grip.

To keep your grips looking new, wipe wood with a dry cloth, clean acrylic with mild soapy water, and keep gun solvents off both.

FAQs

What is the difference between a birdshead grip and a standard grip?
