These 1911 officer grips are built for the compact 1911 platform, Officer-size frame, shorter grip panel, 2-11/16″ screw spacing. Not a full-size panel trimmed down. Cut specifically for the Officer and compact 1911 frame geometry from the start. Unfinished walnut body, diamond checkering across the upper section, stippling across the lower section, and a sweeping curved border separating the two texture zones cleanly down the face of each panel.
Two texture zones on one panel is a deliberate functional choice. The checkering locks the shooting hand’s upper fingers in position, sharp diamond points that bite under recoil without shifting. The stippling below gives the lower palm and pinky a different grip surface that’s slightly less aggressive but equally secure. The sweeping border between them isn’t decorative filler, it defines where each texture begins and ends, keeping the panel readable in the hand without looking at it.
Unfinished walnut is raw wood, no lacquer, no stain, no sealer on the surface. The grain takes hand oils directly over months of regular handling, darkening gradually at high contact points and developing a patina that sealed or stained panels never achieve. Every set comes out slightly different because walnut grain varies panel to panel.
Fitment: Officer-size and compact 1911 frames with standard 2-11/16″ screw spacing: Colt Officer, Colt Defender, Kimber Ultra, Springfield EMP, Rock Island Officer, and other compact 1911 builds cut to Officer spec. These 1911 officer grips will not fit full-size Government or Commander frames, those use 3-1/16″ screw spacing and require a different panel set entirely.
