Diamondback Sidekick Grips

Diamondback Sidekick grips span two frame profiles, the Birdshead-frame Sidekick and the J-Frame-compatible SDR. These are not the same revolver, and the grips don’t cross over.

We offer fire white pearl, rosewood scroll, and rosewood & pearl panels for the Sidekick, plus a dedicated wrap-around for the SDR, with mounting hardware included in every order. Over 50,000 gun owners across America have trusted our panels.

Why Diamondback Shooters Choose Our Grip Panels?

The Sidekick runs on a Birdshead frame, same screw spacing and profile as the Ruger Wrangler grip panels, so our fire white pearl, rosewood scroll, and rosewood & pearl panels seat cleanly on that frame without modification.

The SDR is a J-Frame-compatible wrap-around, stocked separately to match its screw layout and tighter radius. Both include mounting hardware in the box. Premium Grips has supplied panels to over 50,000 gun owners nationwide, and consistent fit is why they keep coming back.

How to Choose the Right Diamondback Grip Panels?

Start by identifying your model. The Diamondback Sidekick uses a Birdshead grip frame, the same mounting pattern found on the Ruger Wrangler. If you’re ordering Sidekick panels, look for the Birdshead listings: scroll rosewood, rosewood and pearl, and fire white pearl all seat on that frame.

The Diamondback SDR uses a J-Frame-style wrap-around panel, a different screw placement and frame profile entirely. Ordering the wrong model means the panel won’t mount flush, so confirm your revolver before checkout. Both options include mounting hardware in the box, so there’s nothing extra to source once your order arrives.

FAQs

Do Diamondback Sidekick and SDR grips fit the same frame?

No. The Sidekick uses a Birdshead grip frame while the SDR uses a J-Frame-style wrap-around configuration. The screw spacing and frame profile differ between the two models, so each requires its own grip panel. Confirm which revolver you own before ordering to avoid a fitment mismatch.

Three panels are available for the Sidekick Birdshead frame: fire white pearl, rosewood scroll, and a rosewood & pearl two-tone combination. All three are designed for the Birdshead mounting pattern. The rosewood & pearl option splits the panel material for a contrasting look on the same frame geometry.

Yes. The Sidekick Birdshead frame and the Ruger Wrangler share the same grip profile and screw spacing, which is why several panels in this catalog are listed for both models. If a panel is confirmed for the Wrangler Birdshead frame, it fits the Sidekick Birdshead as well.

The SDR uses a J-Frame-compatible wrap-around grip configuration. This is a separate frame profile from the Sidekick, with different screw spacing and a tighter grip radius. The wrap-around panel for the SDR is stocked separately and is not compatible with the Birdshead frame used on the Sidekick.

Yes, mounting hardware is included with every order. Both Sidekick and SDR panels come with the screws needed for installation, so there’s nothing to source separately. Basic hand tools are all that’s required, no gunsmith needed to complete the swap.

Fire white pearl offers a smooth, low-snag surface on the Birdshead frame, which suits carry use well. The rosewood scroll option adds texture from the carved pattern, giving a more positive grip during draw. Both are available for the Sidekick, the decision comes down to how much surface grip you prefer.
