Description

These rosewood 1911 grips run a hand-carved rosewood body, an inlaid acrylic ivory accent strip through the middle, and a polished gold medallion at the top of each panel with the letters “U.S.” raised proudly from the metal face. Built for veterans, retired law enforcement, and daily-carry buyers who want American iconography on their sidearm without the painted-flag-on-polymer look that dominates the lower-tier aftermarket.

The “U.S.” lettering is dimensional, not stamped or printed. Light catches the letter edges differently than the medallion face, so the lettering reads clean at any angle and doesn’t blur into the metal under normal range lighting or holster wear.

Three materials, three jobs. The rosewood gives the panel its weight, contour, and durability. The acrylic ivory accent is solid material, cut to thickness and inlaid into the carved channel of the wood, it pulls a warm cream tone against the rosewood’s deep brown. The gold “U.S.” medallion is metal, set flush below the panel surface, with the raised lettering as the panel’s focal point.

Installation runs five minutes with a hex driver. Loosen the four factory grip screws, lift the old panels off, set the carved rosewood in place, tighten the screws back down. Standard 3-1/16″ screw spacing, ambi safety cut included. No fitting, no gunsmith.

Fits the full-size single-stack 1911 family, Colt Government, Colt Commander, Kimber, Springfield Armory, Ruger SR1911, Smith & Wesson SW1911, Remington R1, Sig 1911, Rock Island, GSG, and Taurus 1911. These rosewood 1911 grips won’t seat on Officer-size or compact 1911 frames (shorter screw spacing), 2011 double-stacks, or magwell-cut competition pistols.

Rosewood is the right body wood for a build like this. It’s dense enough to hold the carving cleanly through years of carry, dark enough to give the ivory accent and gold medallion the contrast that makes the panel work, and stable across the temperature ranges a working pistol actually sees. Every material on the panel survives bore solvent, oil, and cleaning patches without lifting, fading, or staining.

If you want the same carved-rosewood ivory-accent build with an American flag medallion instead of gold “U.S.” lettering, that runs as a separate listing in the 1911 category. Cut, carved, and finished in North Carolina. 30-day return window if the panels don’t seat flush on your pistol.
