Description
If your Heritage Rough Rider needs an upgrade from factory polymer, these Heritage Rough Rider Rosewood Grips give the pistol the look it should have shipped with. Checkered rosewood panels with an inlaid Eagle Buffalo Nickel medallion centered on each side, Western-heritage build for .22 LR and .22 Magnum shooters running a Rough Rider as a trail gun, plinker, or Sunday-shoot piece.
The Buffalo Nickel medallion is a real piece of Americana. The original coin was designed by James Earle Fraser, minted from 1913 through 1938, and used a Native American profile on one side and an American bison on the other. The medallion on these grips carries the Eagle Buffalo Nickel motif, gives the pistol a tie to early 20th-century American iconography that suits the Wild West character of the Rough Rider platform.
Why pick rosewood for a Rough Rider?
Rosewood is dense, holds checkering detail cleanly, and ages with character. Laminated rosewood adds stability across temperature and humidity, important on a pistol that often sees outdoor range and trail use. The grain runs dark and warm, pairing naturally with the matte and blued Rough Rider finishes. Compared to the soft factory polymer, it adds visual weight to the build without making the pistol feel heavier in the hand.
Will these fit my Rough Rider?
Drop-in fit for standard-frame Heritage Arms Rough Rider revolvers in .22 LR and .22 Magnum, 6-shot and 9-shot configurations across the 4.75″, 6.5″, and 9″ barrel lengths. These won’t fit the Birdshead Rough Rider, the bird’s-beak grip uses different geometry. If your Rough Rider has the classic flat-bottom grip, you’re good.
