Description
A pair of unfinished 1911 walnut grips featuring two textured zones, sharp diamond checkering up top, rougher stippled texture below, separated by a curved bevel detail and crowned with a gold double eagle medallion. The result is a working-class grip that still looks at home in a display case. Made for shooters who want real retention without giving up the warmth of natural wood. Installs in minutes on any standard full-size 1911. No fitting. No gunsmith. No shock washers.
Compatible with Colt Government, Colt Commander, Kimber, Springfield, Ruger SR1911, S&W SW1911, Remington R1, Sig 1911, Rock Island, GSG 1911, Taurus 1911, and any 1911 clone built to Government spec. Standard 3-1/16″ screw spacing. Ambi safety cut included. Not compatible with Officer/compact frames, 2011 double-stacks, or magwell-cut competition builds.
Why unfinished walnut? Because raw wood ages with the gun. The grain darkens with hand oils, the high points smooth with use, and the panels develop a patina that no factory finish can fake. The mixed-texture face gives you genuine grip under recoil, the checkering bites in dry conditions, the rough zone holds when your hands are wet. The double eagle medallion sits flush in the panel, not glued to the surface, so it won’t loosen or pop free.
Hand-carved and finished in North Carolina. 50,000+ 1911 grips shipped. 30-day returns if they don’t fit or arrive damaged.
