These Colt medallion 1911 grips do something different: a black-finish Colt rampant horse, inlaid into carved black rosewood, broken across the middle by a strip of acrylic pearl. The black-on-black-on-pearl combination is for buyers who want the Colt mark recognized at close range but not announced from across a parking lot.
Three materials, three jobs. The rosewood gives the panel its weight, hand feel, and dimensional stability. The pearl strip is a solid acrylic pearl inlaid into the wood and cut to thickness, it catches light against the dark body and reads as the focal contrast on the panel.
