Description
The Heritage Rough Rider is one of the few revolvers that gets better the more you put into it. Out of the box, it’s a reliable, accurate .22 that most owners shoot far more than they expected to, and eventually the factory plastic panels start to feel like the one thing on the gun that doesn’t belong. These Heritage Rough Rider grips replace them: walnut panels with scale carving across the face and a relief-carved American eagle worked into the wood itself, not stamped on as a medallion.
The eagle here is carved directly into the walnut surface, wings spread, feather detail cut into the wood grain, the whole image rising out of the panel face as relief sculpture. That’s a different category of decorative work than an inlaid medallion or a surface-printed image. The depth of the carving catches light differently at every angle the revolver turns, and the walnut grain runs through the carved sections rather than stopping at their edges.
Scale carving covers the grip section below the eagle. The overlapping scales give the palm a consistent purchase point without the aggressive abrasion of deep stippling, enough texture to keep the revolver seated in the hand through .22 LR’s modest recoil, refined enough that the grip doesn’t chew up the shooting hand over a long range session.
Walnut is the traditional grip wood for single-action revolvers because it gets better with time. The surface darkens as hand oils work into the grain across months of regular handling, the high points smooth slightly where the hand contacts the wood most, and the overall feel of the panel shifts from new to worn-in in a way that synthetic materials simply don’t do.
Install is straightforward, the factory screw backs out, old panels come off, walnut panels go on, screw seats back through. The whole swap takes under five minutes and needs nothing beyond a standard screwdriver.
Custom Heritage Rough Rider grips like these change the feel and identity of the revolver in a way that sights, triggers, and holsters don’t. The Rough Rider already handles well. The walnut just makes it look like it deserves to.
30-day returns if the panels don’t fit your Rough Rider correctly.

Every grip listing in our shop specifies the exact brand, frame, and model it fits. Browse by manufacturer to find grips made specifically for your firearm.
Which gun grip material should I choose for my shooting style?
Rosewood and walnut work best for collectors. G10 is ideal for competitive shooters. Rubber suits high-recoil and rapid-fire use.
Can I return my gun grips if they don't fit or I'm not satisfied?
Yes. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If your grips don’t fit, arrive damaged, or aren’t what you expected, return them in original packaging for a replacement or full refund.
Can gun shops buy grips wholesale or in bulk?
Yes. We offer wholesale pricing for retailers and distributors with no large minimum order required.
How long does shipping take on gun grips?
Orders are processed within 1–2 business days. Most customers across the US receive their order within 4–5 business days.

Slim wood or ABS grip panels work best for concealed carry. They keep your profile low, prevent printing, and won’t snag on clothing during your draw.
