Description
A carved black rosewood panel set for the Python that doesn’t pick a lane scrollwork runs across the upper portion of each panel, scale carving covers the lower half, and the two patterns meet in the middle without competing. The combination reads as custom work rather than production carving, which is the point.
At the top of each side, a silver Punisher skull is seated into the wood below the panel surface. The silver finish reads bright against the black rosewood, more visible at distance than a matte-black medallion on dark wood.
The scrollwork-and-scales combination earns its place on a Python specifically. The scrollwork section sits where the shooting hand’s thumb rests, providing a smooth ornamental field that doesn’t abrade the thumb pad through a full cylinder’s worth of double-action pull. The scale carving occupies the palm section, where texture actually matters for grip retention. Two carving styles doing two different jobs on the same panel.
Confirmed fit: Python 2020 across all barrel lengths, and the Anaconda 2021 which shares the Python’s grip frame. The pre-2005 Python, King Cobra, Trooper, and earlier Colt double-action revolvers have different frame geometry, panels won’t seat on those.
The side-plate screw backs out with a standard hex driver. Old panels lift free. New panels seat against the frame. Screw goes back in. The whole sequence takes longer to describe than to do.
Black rosewood is the material choice that makes the silver Punisher readable. The wood’s dark, close-grained surface gives the polished silver skull the contrast it needs, on lighter wood, silver reads as metallic but not dramatic. On black rosewood, it catches every light source in the room.
30-day return if the panels don’t seat correctly on your Python or Anaconda.
