Unfinished walnut 1911 compact grips, sanded to 220 grit and shipped naked, no clear coat, no stain, no dye. Built for Officer-size and compact 1911 owners who want to finish the panels themselves: oil, stain, hydro-dipping, laser engraving, wood burning, or hide wrapping.
Made in the mountains of North Carolina from kiln-dried walnut, each panel is prepared as a customization base, not a final product. The grain is open and ready to absorb stain or oil. The surface takes engraving and burning cleanly because there’s no synthetic top coat to scorch through. Wood grain pattern varies between sets — that’s the trade-off for working with real wood instead of a printed laminate.
Fits compact and Officer-size 1911 frames: Colt Officer, Colt Defender, Colt New Agent, Springfield EMP, Springfield Micro Compact, Kimber Ultra, Kimber CDP, Taurus, Remington, Sig, and Smith & Wesson compact 1911. Standard 2-11/16″ screw spacing. Rock Island compact may need light sanding for a flush fit. Does not fit full-size 1911, 2011 double-stacks, magwell-cut frames, or Llama pistols.
