Join or Die 1911 grips for shooters who want a piece of American Revolution history on their pistol, Benjamin Franklin’s 1754 segmented-snake cartoon UV-printed onto solid walnut panels. The base material is solid walnut, tighter grain and warmer color than rosewood, with a vintage Americana aesthetic that suits Revolutionary-era and colonial imagery. The Join, or Die snake is UV-cured into the wood surface, not surface-applied or printed as a decal. UV bonding penetrates the top wood layer, so the design holds detail and color through years of holster wear, sunlight exposure, and routine cleaning with CLP, Hoppe’s, or brake cleaner.
The image reproduces Franklin’s original eight-segment snake from the May 9, 1754 Pennsylvania Gazette political cartoon, the earliest known political cartoon in American journalism and a symbol that re-emerged during the American Revolution and again in modern 2A iconography. CNC machining cuts the panel face flat and uniform so the print bonds cleanly across the full grip area without distortion.
