Description
These 1911 walnut grips put three decorative elements on one panel, oval checkering at the center, a scrollwork border surrounding it, and a gold double eagle medallion set flush in the middle of the checkered oval. The layout is deliberate: the scrollwork defines the panel’s visual boundary, the oval checkering fills the field, and the eagle sits at the intersection of both. It reads as a finished design rather than a grip with decoration added to it.
Unfinished walnut — no lacquer, no stain, no surface sealer. The raw wood takes hand oils directly across months of regular handling. The checkering points stay sharp because walnut grain at this density holds cut edges without the micro-compression that rounds off carved detail on softer materials. The scrollwork border runs between the checkered center field and the panel edge, giving the design a frame that makes the oval readable against the wood face at any angle.
The gold double eagle medallion is metal, set flush into the checkered oval, not surface-mounted, not adhesive-bonded. It sits protected within the checkering field rather than sitting proud of the panel surface where it would catch cleaning patches or admit solvent at the bond line.
Fitment: Full-size single-stack 1911 family: Colt Government, Colt Commander, Kimber, Springfield Armory, Ruger SR1911, Smith & Wesson SW1911, Remington R1, Sig 1911, Rock Island, GSG, and Taurus 1911. Standard 3-1/16″ screw spacing. Ambi safety cut included. Officer frames, compact 1911s, 2011 double-stacks, and magwell-cut competition pistols use different geometry — panels ordered for the wrong frame won’t seat and cannot be modified to fit.
Four grip screws out with a hex driver. Old panels off. Walnut panels on. Screws back in. Five minutes. No fitting, no gunsmith.
If you want unfinished walnut with mixed checkering and rough stippling instead of the oval and scrollwork layout, that runs as a separate listing. 30-day returns if panels don’t seat flush on your pistol.

Which gun grip material should I choose for my shooting style?
Rosewood and walnut work best for collectors. G10 is ideal for competitive shooters. Rubber suits high-recoil and rapid-fire use.
