Description
A three-element panel build for the 1911: carved black rosewood as the body, a strip of acrylic pearl inlaid through the middle, and a polished gold eagle medallion seated at the top. Each material does a different job. The rosewood gives the panel its weight, contour, and durability. The pearl accent breaks up the dark wood with a bright reflective band that catches light from every angle. The gold eagle anchors the top of each side and gives the panel a focal point.
The pearl is solid acrylic pearl, cut to thickness and inlaid into the wood, not a printed strip or surface overlay. It won’t chip out of the carved channel, won’t fade under cleaning solvents, and won’t lift at the edges over time. The gold eagle medallion sits flush below the panel surface, not glued on top, so cleaning patches and bore solvent pass over it cleanly through years of use.
Installation runs five minutes with a hex driver. Loosen the four factory grip screws, lift the old panels off, set the carved rosewood in place, tighten back down. Standard 3-1/16″ screw spacing, ambi safety cut included. No fitting, no gunsmith.
Fits the full-size single-stack 1911 family, Colt Government, Colt Commander, Kimber, Springfield Armory, Ruger SR1911, Smith & Wesson SW1911, Remington R1, Sig 1911, Rock Island, GSG, and Taurus 1911. These 1911 pearl grips will not seat on Officer-size or compact 1911 frames (shorter screw spacing), 2011 double-stacks, or magwell-cut competition pistols.
Black rosewood is the right wood for a build like this. It’s dense enough to hold the carving without softening at the edges, dark enough to make the pearl strip and gold eagle pop against the body, and stable across the temperature swings a carry pistol actually sees.
Cut, carved, and finished in North Carolina. 30-day return window if the panels don’t seat flush on your pistol.
