These 1911 Texas grips put three materials on one panel: carved black rosewood as the body, an acrylic pearl strip inlaid through the middle, and a Texas Star medallion seated flush at the top of each side. Not laser-etched, not CNC-routed through composite, not surface-printed to simulate depth. The cuts go into solid wood and hold there because black rosewood’s grain density resists the micro-compression that rounds off decorative work on lower-density materials over years of carry and handling.The acrylic pearl strip is solid material, cut to the exact thickness of the channel routed into the rosewood. Color runs uniform through the full material depth, edge wear at the pearl strip won’t expose a different substrate underneath. The pearl reads bright against the dark rosewood body, pulling the eye up toward the Texas Star at the top of each panel.The Texas Star medallion is metal, inlaid below the panel surface.
